Continuing Education/Program Committee
The CE Program Committee provides opportunities for SAPA members to obtain CE credits and to gather as a professional community in a friendly atmosphere conducive to educational enhancement. The committee currently has six members, in alphabetical order, John (Jac) Carlson, Lisa Coyner, Paul Dukro, Ken Marsh, Pat Strasberg, and Sandi Thompson. It is the responsibility of this committee to plan SAPA’a luncheon meetings, SAPA-sponsored workshop/seminars, the annual SAPA holiday party, and community outreach efforts by other SAPA committees on request. The Committee arranges for speakers, finds venues, makes food arrangements, and develops advertising/brochures. Every five years the CE committee completes an application to APA to maintain SAPA as a Sponsor of Continuing Education for Psychologists.

Professional Outreach
The Professional Outreach committee chair serves our Southern Arizona community of psychologists in any way that will help members feel more connected. Currently, the focus has been on resurrecting the Mentoring program through SAPA by (1) helping new psychologists meet other colleagues, connect to those with similar interests or network in the community; (2) facilitating the integration of psychologists who move here from out of state or (3) helping with areas of their practice where they would like to learn more; including particular clinical interests, information on managed care, how to do billing, setting up clinical forms for intake, HIPAA and record keeping.
Committee Chair: Laura Schnaps, Ph.D.
School Psychology
The School Psychology Committee helps promote both the psychological and educational development of youth so they may succeed academically, socially and emotionally. This committee works collaboratively with other professionals toward that end. The School Psychology Committee often plans continuing education events to improve our skills in mental health, child development, school organization, learning styles and processes, behavior, motivation and effective teaching.
Committee Chair: Elizabeth David, Ph.D.
